Currently we are working with one of our clients on an organisational change project. And we’ve been thrown a curve ball. We’ve hit a problem!
The temptation was to react and dive straight into action to fix the problem. But our advice has been to SLOW it down and get clear on the problem we are facing. Define it. And a great way to do that is understand the facts of the situation – one of the DeBono 6 thinking hats.
In relation to FACTS, the team explored:
- What do we know?
- What don’t we know?
Avoid making quick decisions. Go away and find the facts you can. And with more clarity, this will help with choosing the most effective way forward to tackle the problem.
